I hate salesmen...
Ok, major work rant. So I handle commissions for a large percentage of the sales force at our company. And basically I’m the one that handles any changes that need to be made but only to a point. After we end a financial month, we have a week to still make changes. For example, out month of December ended on December 30th and I had until Friday, January 5th to make changes. So the guys get the report, send corrections, etc. Every so often someone is on vacation that week and can’t get their changes in. Well I can still send them to Houston the next week but only until Wednesday and she’s got a 100 other things to do so I try really hard to not overload her with things. So anyway, one of our guys was out last week. So he calls me on MONDAY and says yeah, I just got back from vacation, I’m working on it. And I said well I’ll do what I can but it depends on how busy she is in Houston, it’s out of my hands at this point. And she has to manually make these changes so I’m not promising. But if it doesn’t make this check it will absolutely be on next months. So it’s not like he won’t get paid for it. Well then he goes you know I really need it this month because I depend on that because I’m paying student loans for my son… I said again, I’m not telling you no, I’m just telling you it’s not under my power. Fine… so he sends them to me THIS MORNING. Today is the last day for the changes. I email him and his boss back and say I’ll do my best but I’m not promising. Then, he writes back to tell me that he uses these commission checks to pay the bills for his disabled son. Um, maybe I’m heartless, but that actually made me more mad. It’s like he keeps telling me over and over that I need to do this for him when he’s the one that was out. I’m not saying schedule your vacation around that week, but we do this at the same time every month. Make arrangements with someone else to do it for you this month or something. But do NOT play the disabled son card on me and think that’s gonna change things. It’s not a matter of it the girl in Houston will or won’t… It’s a matter of how her schedule is and she can’t just drop everything to always bail people out. I don’t know. Maybe I’m out of line but it just made me mad.

Good thing I am just a "desk jockey" I wouldn't want to be lumped in with these "salesmen" that you speak of.
If I depended on that money so much, I sure as hell would have had them in to you ASAP on Monday!!! Sounds like he's just trying to shift the blame if he doesn't get it in time.
Does he sell used cars by any chance?
This is Tiny Tim. I am the disabled son of a lazy salesman. I will not get to eat or go to school now thanks to Amanda. I think my landlord is kicking me out too. Great, nowmyspacebardoesn'twork

P.S. I hate salesmen too, I just can't type that much about them....your wrists must get more of a workout than mine. :)
